Reverse Engineering & CAD Reconstruction
SERVICE 06 / Physical parts to functional CAD
Reconstruct usable CAD from an existing part or incomplete drawings.
I interpret physical measurements, photographs, legacy drawings and 3D scans to rebuild functional geometry. The goal is a model with useful dimensions and interfaces rather than a visual copy alone.

What I can help with
- Measure and interpret existing part geometry
- Rebuild parametric parts and relevant assemblies
- Convert 2D or PDF references into 3D CAD
- Review mounting features and mating interfaces
What you receive
- Native CAD and STEP files
- Dimensioned drawing where scoped
- Recorded assumptions and measurements needing confirmation
- Revisions after a physical fit check when included
How we work together
- Review your brief, files and acceptance requirements.
- Agree the scope and carry out the work with progress reviews.
- Check the agreed deliverables and coordinate handoff.
What to send me
Send the physical part or scan, multiple photographs, known dimensions, units, legacy drawings and mating parts.
Scope and validation
Hidden features and unmeasured dimensions remain assumptions until checked. The related drawing illustrates reconstruction inputs; it is not represented as a separate reverse engineering project.
